Last month, Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) was presented with the 2024 Walter Roberts Award for Congressional Leadership in Public Diplomacy by the Walter Roberts Endowment and the GWU Institute for Public Diplomacy and Global Communications for her significant contributions to Public Diplomacy.

WorldChicago was recognized as an organization in the Senator’s state that excels in public diplomacy work. Our Director of International Exchanges, Megan Spillman, traveled to Washington, D.C., on behalf of WorldChicago to accept both this award and an accompanying grant, which will help sustain our vital people-to-people exchange and outreach programs.
