World Chicago International Education Initiative
The International Education Initiative advances international relations and educational development in three distinct ways:
Providing professional development opportunities for international educators each year WorldChicago works with local area high schools and universities to arrange professional development programs for international educators from around the world. Through these programs international education leaders gain first hand exposure to innovations in curriculum development, special education services, early child hood education programs, the training of world-class teachers.
Planning international delegation presentations in Chicago Public Schools many of the international delegations visiting Chicago through US Department of State sponsored programs provide presentations at local area high schools, elementary and middle schools, and Chicago universities. Through this initiative, 100s of Chicago area teachers and students learn firsthand about different cultures, current geopolitical events of interest, and US Relations with the global community.
Providing information on international exchange opportunities to Chicago area teachers and high schools as a public service WorldChicago provides web resource information to Chicago area teachers and students.
The International Education Initiative would not be possible without the support of the US Department of State and the Boeing Company. We are actively seeking additional funding from individuals, corporations, and private foundations for the International Education Initiative to increase and enhance our programming in this field.
